About William of Ockham
Occams razor warns that entities should not be multiplied without necessity. A nominalist who held that universals are only names. Fled charges of heresy and lived under imperial protection in Munich. Argued fiercely against papal power over secular rulers. His logic pared away much of medieval metaphysics. One of the sharpest minds of the fourteenth century.
