About Epicurus

His garden school admitted women and slaves, unheard of in ancient Greece. Often misunderstood as advocating hedonism, he actually taught that simple pleasures bring the most happiness. The problem of evil: if God is good and all-powerful, why does suffering exist. His physics was based on atomism borrowed from Democritus. Over 300 works, most lost.
