About Nishida Kitaro
Founder of the Kyoto School of Japanese philosophy. His first book, An Inquiry into the Good, appeared in 1911. Pure experience precedes the split between subject and object. Developed a logic of place and the concept of absolute nothingness. Practiced Zen throughout his life. Built a genuine dialogue between Western philosophy and Buddhist thought.
