About Francis Bacon

Declared that knowledge is power. The Novum Organum proposed induction in place of syllogistic science. The four idols name the biases that corrupt the mind: tribe, cave, marketplace, and theater. Served as Lord Chancellor until convicted of taking gifts from litigants. Died after catching a chill while testing snow as a meat preservative. His vision inspired the founding of the Royal Society.
