About Diogenes

Lived in a barrel in Athens and carried a lamp in daylight looking for an honest man. Told Alexander the Great to move because he was blocking his sunlight. Publicly mocked social conventions, eating in the marketplace and performing bodily functions in public. Plato called him Socrates gone mad. The word cynical derives from his school, the Cynics.
